Our MISSION
Canadian society is inclusive and has a strengthened Muslim community, where cultural and ethnic groups and their members' social, cultural, spiritual and economic well-being is fundamental. Each persons' potential is achieved by accessing and receiving culturally, linguistically and spiritually appropriate health, social and economic services and supports.
our mandate
In collaboration with and integrated into mainstream human services, we provide family, health and social welfare services, inclusive of the many cultural and ethnic groups that comprise our Muslim communities in Manitoba and Canada. ISSA helps facilitate, bridge, navigate, advocate, collaborate, educate and build awareness and provide direct service and support to individuals and communities by collaborating and integrating into mainstream health and social services of our community.
Volunteer
ISSA is looking for volunteers to help with various community and service activities. Volunteering with ISSA is an opportunity to contribute to our community and to get experience working with others promoting social justice.

Today, the Canadian Human Rights Commission’s Interim Chief Commissioner, Charlotte-Anne Malischewski, issues the following statement
"The Canadian Human Rights Commission is devastated by the horrific violence and humanitarian tragedy taking place in Israel and Palestine. For many in Canada, these catastrophic events are deeply personal and painful. They evoke historic, intergenerational trauma and are causing immense grief, fear, distress, and anger.
We are deeply concerned by the recent dramatic rise in Islamophobia, antisemitism, and racism-fuelled hate in our country.
When hate manifests in our communities, it is a threat to public safety, democracy, and human rights.
Our governments have a responsibility to ensure that our public spaces — both virtual and physical — are safe for all.
Current events in our country have underscored the urgency that now is the time for new legislation to address hate in Canada with a coordinated and comprehensive approach.
The Government must act now."
